With the shift from pallet deliveries to deliveries of boxes and parcels by couriers and express services, the goods reception process needed to be adapted for Vandewiele, a leading machine builder for the textile industry. In collaboration with Easy Systems, Vandewiele installed a new reception area linked to the automated mini-load bin warehouse.
Easy Systems designed a new reception station with four workstations, connected to the largest bin warehouse: 20,000 storage locations, spread over a 20-metre-high and 115-metre-long warehouse. Boxes are scanned, checked, and placed in bins, which are transported to the warehouse via a dual-action lift and roller conveyors. This system, which operates without software integration, ensures efficient and orderly processing of deliveries.
For Easy Systems, the challenge was to fit the entire installation within the existing environment, spread over two floors. The result is a custom solution executed with standard components from Easy Systems’ portfolio, including the typical aluminum profiles. With four workstations, Vandewiele can efficiently handle peak times. The maximum processing capacity of 250 boxes per hour ensures quick and reliable goods reception. The new digital approach, combined with the installation from Easy Systems, has noticeably shortened the throughput time.
With the help of Easy Systems, Vandewiele has laid a solid foundation for the future, renewing the goods reception process. These changes ensure a more efficient and organized process, preparing the company to meet the challenges of the modern transport systems world.
