At PVG Liquids in Ghent, where the entire process of stove fuel production is managed, we played a crucial role in optimizing their production line. We designed and built a conveyor system, specifically to automate the transport from the blow molding machine to the filling station.
Initially, the fuel cans are just an unformed piece of plastic. The blow molding machine inflates these blanks with air until they reach their final shape. Subsequently, the cans travel a long distance to a nearby filling station. Why do we make this extra journey? It prevents issues if the filling machine were to stop. The cans could get stuck in the blow molding machine, potentially causing high temperatures and damage to up to 60 cans. Additionally, we incorporated aluminum structures and guides into the project.
Our conveyor system creates an automated flow and provides a buffer space. If the filling machine stops, the cans can still be transported away. Operators no longer need to shut down the blow molding machine, optimizing production flow and minimizing damage.
